Barbados: Timothy Oulton

Parts of Barbados are growing rapidly. Construction of large, Western-style homes abounds &  upscale shops seem to pop up every time we visit, especially in the central part of the island. These homes & stores sit up on hills, with views over the interior of the island out to the sea. This past trip we visited Timothy Oulton, a fascinating new "upscale" home furnishing store.

With showrooms in Los Angeles, New York City, Madrid, & Barbados, Timouth Oulton has an eclectic style of things geared toward the has-money-to-burn-on-bookshelf-knick-knacks shopper. The store has all the items you need to decorate a proper bookcase or study or coffee table or empty corner of your house that you have no idea what to fill with - all the things you secretly hope are hiding in your grandparents attic. I especially loved the antique cameras, typewriters (which covered an entire wall!), & globes.

An added bonus to the St. Thomas, Barbados Timothy Oulton location? If you didn't find exactly what you're looking for, there are other Pottery Barn-esque stores right next door.

Note: I'm not paid or perk'd to write this kind of stuff. Timothy Oulton has no idea who I am. I just thought the store was really cool!
